For Customers Visiting Starbase Tokyo from Overseas
Effective September 19, 2026

Starbase Tokyo is a retail store serving the Japanese domestic market.

Takahashi products are distributed and supported outside Japan through authorized dealers serving each country and region. Please read and agree to the following conditions before purchasing from Starbase Tokyo.

Advance Orders for Products Not Currently in Stock

Starbase Tokyo does not accept advance orders, provisional orders, or reservations for products that are not in stock at the time of inquiry.

Even when a future production or delivery schedule has been announced or estimated, we cannot guarantee future availability or reserve such products in advance.

Sales and Delivery

Starbase Tokyo’s online store is intended solely for sales and delivery within Japan.

We do not accept orders intended for:

• overseas forwarding or export
• resale or commercial distribution outside Japan
• purchasing on behalf of a third party outside Japan
• delivery to a third party outside Japan

We do not ship products to:

• addresses outside Japan
• hotels or other temporary accommodations
• airport counters
• international forwarding companies
• export agents or similar service providers

If we determine that an order or purchase falls under any of the above conditions, we may refuse the sale, cancel the order, or refuse future transactions with the customer.

Starbase Tokyo does not provide customs clearance, export documentation, international shipping arrangements, delivery to forwarding or export agents, or special packaging for international transportation.

Products are supplied only in their standard packaging intended for domestic distribution in Japan.

Tax-Free Purchases

For tax-free purchases made through October 31, 2026, a handling fee equal to 1.65% of the tax-free purchase amount will be charged.

Starbase Tokyo will not participate in Japan’s new tax-free shopping refund system for the time being. Accordingly, purchases made at Starbase Tokyo on or after November 1, 2026 will be sold at prices including Japanese consumption tax and will not be eligible for a consumption tax refund under the new system.

Transportation Outside Japan

Telescopes and precision optical instruments can be affected by shocks, vibration, handling, and other conditions during transportation.

Starbase Tokyo is not responsible for damage, misalignment, collimation errors, or other problems caused after a product leaves our store.

The discovery of a problem after a product leaves our store does not, by itself, establish that the problem existed at the time of sale.

Customers who choose to take a product outside Japan are responsible for arranging and managing its transportation.

Starbase Tokyo does not provide special packaging or other arrangements for international transportation.

Warranty and After-Sales Service

The manufacturer’s warranty and any voluntary inspection, adjustment, repair, replacement, technical support, or other after-sales service provided by Starbase Tokyo apply only to products used within Japan.

Once a product has been taken outside Japan, these warranties and voluntary services will no longer apply.

This also applies if:

• a defect or other problem is discovered after the product has left Japan; or
• the product is subsequently brought back to Japan.

Taking the product back to Japan does not restore the manufacturer’s warranty or Starbase Tokyo’s voluntary after-sales service.

Starbase Tokyo does not accept products sent from outside Japan.

We also do not ship inspected, adjusted, repaired, replaced, returned, or exchanged products to addresses outside Japan.

Authorized Takahashi distributors and local dealers outside Japan do not accept warranty claims, inspections, repairs, adjustments, or other support requests for products purchased from Starbase Tokyo.

If a customer claims that a defect or other problem existed at the time of sale, the matter will be considered separately from Starbase Tokyo’s voluntary warranty and after-sales service.

Where inspection of the product is necessary, Starbase Tokyo will not arrange international transportation or accept the product by shipment from outside Japan.

Any rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law remain unaffected.

We Recommend Purchasing from Your Local Authorized Takahashi Dealer

Takahashi products are often used for many years.

During long-term ownership, adjustment, inspection, replacement parts, repair, or technical support may eventually become necessary.

For this reason, customers who intend to use a Takahashi product outside Japan are strongly encouraged to purchase it from the authorized Takahashi dealer serving their own country or region.

Purchasing through your local authorized dealer gives you access to the sales and support system established for your region and avoids difficulties if service is required in the future.

Customers who require overseas delivery, a warranty valid in their country or region, or local inspection, repair, or support should purchase from an authorized Takahashi dealer serving their country or region.
